About The Position

Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for a Safety Engineering Intern in our Middletown, PA facility starting in August 2026 for the Fall 2026 semester. This on-site, part-time position requires the ideal candidate to be located within the general area. No visa sponsorship or relocation assistance will be provided for this role. Requirements

  • Genuine interest in Environmental Health, Safety, and Engineering with a desire to learn and grow.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Team-oriented approach and comfort working under guidance and supervision.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify risks, and support problem-solving efforts.
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to embrace new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, ongoing basis. The company does not provide immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Support the development and implementation of site-specific safety training programs.
  • Help digitize Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) documentation and improve record management processes.
  • Contribute to projects focused on mitigating and managing the site's top safety hazards.
  • Lead and support 5S safety initiatives to improve workplace organization and safety performance.
  • Participate in ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to help reduce workplace injuries.
  • Assist with Environmental Health & Safety program reviews and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support Behavior-Based Safety initiatives to promote a strong safety culture across the facility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and seasoned professionals on a variety of safety-related projects and initiatives.
