As an Entry-Level Engineering Safety Professional, you’ll support the evaluation and improvement of equipment, processes, and facilities to help clients protect their people and meet applicable safety requirements. You’ll work alongside multidisciplinary project teams to identify hazards, assess risk, develop practical solutions, and document recommendations. This role provides hands-on exposure to engineering safety principles throughout the design, installation, and operation of industrial systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, occupational safety, or a related technical field.
  • Academic, internship, co-op, or project experience related to engineering, manufacturing, workplace safety, risk assessment, or regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and prepare clear written documentation.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client and project sites for assessments, meetings, installation activities, and training.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to machine safety, process safety, hazard analysis, risk assessment, ergonomics, or safety management systems.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements, ANSI standards, NFPA standards, or other applicable safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, Bluebeam, or similar technical documentation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support safety reviews and risk assessments for equipment, machinery, manufacturing processes, and facilities.
  • Identify potential hazards and assist with developing engineering controls and risk-reduction recommendations.
  • Participate in machine safety assessments, design reviews, job hazard analyses, and other safety-related evaluations.
  • Research and apply applicable OSHA regulations, industry standards, client requirements, and recognized engineering practices.
  • Assist with preparing safety documentation, technical reports, procedures, checklists, and project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, clients, vendors, and contractors to incorporate safety into project designs.
  • Participate in site visits to observe equipment, processes, installations, and operating conditions.
  • Support equipment installation, start-up, commissioning, and validation activities from a safety perspective.
  • Track findings and assist project teams with implementing and documenting corrective actions.
  • Build technical expertise in engineering safety, risk management, regulatory compliance, and industrial project delivery.

Benefits

  • The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 . This range is a good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and the geographic location of the position.
