About The Position

The Safety Engineer plays a vital role in complex engineering projects, with core responsibility for supporting project teams and sites on the lines, including risk analysis assessment. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety norms and regulations throughout all project phases, from design reviews to on-site validation and CE certification.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Ability to travel domestically (5-20%) and internationally as project needs may require for technical support.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field.
  • Reading comprehension of technical documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum three years of work experience in automotive development (Hardware or Software), manufacturing, or industrial safety engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve timing, quality, and cost targets.
  • Assure the use of company standards (product, processes, norms...).
  • Develop risk analysis activities for tooling, robotic cells, and automated systems to ensure compliance with safety norms.
  • Conduct risk assessments (e.g., PFMEA, Ergonomic Analysis, Hazard Assessments) for new and modified tooling.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as OSHA, ANSI, ISO 12100, ISO 13849, and local regulations.
  • Perform Safety Analysis during all project phases and participate in tooling design reviews, providing continuous feedback to the project team.
  • Validate guarding, interlocks, lockout points, pinch-point protection, emergency stop, etc.
  • Conduct on-site checks to verify correct line installation and commissioning against safety requirements.
  • Verify the contents of the technical file and develop the CE document certification.
  • Investigate tooling-related incidents, near-misses, and failures.
  • Lead corrective actions and develop long-term safety improvements.
  • Deliver training to operators, maintenance technicians, and engineers on proper tooling use.
