About The Position

The Safety Division Director, USA is responsible for directing the growth and profitability of the Safety Portfolio in the US. This role involves leading, developing, and inspiring the Safety Sales Team to achieve maximum sales volume through effective organization of sales teams, distributor networks, and sales resources. The position focuses on coaching and developing a cohesive, results-oriented, and customer-focused sales team. It also emphasizes fostering strong relationships with key partners such as National Accounts, House Accounts, OEM customers, and buying groups to ensure sustainable sales growth. As a Safety expert, the director will lead the Safety Portfolio cross-selling mission by participating in conversion opportunities and strategic customer presentations.

  • Understanding of both Respirator and Confined Space regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge, or have the ability to be trained extensively with respirator and confined space products and applications.
  • Expertise in and ability to implement concepts, practices and procedures pertaining to assigned field and responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales leadership experience.
  • 15 years field sales experience.
  • Proven success managing and supervising a geographically diverse sales force.
  • Tangible experience with industrial and safety distribution partners and end users.
  • Experience with national account sales and/or large account penetration, negotiation, and maintenance techniques.
  • Strong relationship management skills, and ability to interface with all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and communicate strategic goals and sales budgets as well as growth drivers for the US; Monitor and report performance in each territory monthly.
  • Effectively work with other Sales leaders and Sales Agencies to drive key strategic account strategies, tactics, and engagement strategies.
  • Motivate and inspire team to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales budget.
  • Manage and grow specific accounts and assigned business segments; actively target and convert new accounts to increase Safety Sales share in North America.
  • Develop and maintain fruitful relationships with distributor principals, agencies principals, strategic accounts, buying groups and key influential end-users.
  • Partner with Regional Sales Directors and their teams to influence identification of new opportunities.
  • Hold recurring one-on-one sessions with sales team members to review performance to goal, to provide coaching, and to address areas for improvement.
  • Attend quarterly business review meetings with agencies to review performance, opportunities, discuss business updates and address any concerns if applicable.
  • In field coaching and training of sales team (direct and agencies) and visiting customers for large opportunities (50%).
  • Safety Portfolio champion supporting, with product and OSHA regulation knowledge, Industrial TMs and RDs grow Safety shares at industrial distributors.
  • Active use of Salesforce.com to capture opportunities and support internal S&OP processes.
  • Effectively manage assigned Sales budgets including Samples, T&E and fuel.
  • Promote a healthy and collaborative culture reflective of Water’s value and supporting the corporate mission.
  • Actively partake in internal meetings and customer meetings (in person or online).
  • Regular and dependable attendance in line with company business hours and policy is an essential requirement of this position.
