About The Position

Intermountain Electronics (IE) is a leading provider and manufacturer of custom engineered Process, Electrical Control and Power Distribution turn-key solutions to the Data Center, Industrial, Power/Utility, Oil & Gas, Mining industries in North America. Our products range from large scale one-off custom Power Distribution, Control and Process systems to standard off-the-shelf electronic/electro-mechanical components. Reporting directly to the HSE Manager, we are currently seeking a Safety Coordinator for our Afternoon Shift to be based at our Price, Utah facility.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of industrial work setting experience working in a mechanically related or manufacturing environments or an equivalent combination education and experience.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Software including PowerPoint word processing software.
  • Must be proficient using mobile devices, Laptops, etc.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must comply with and follow all IE standards, programs, policies, and procedures as they apply to this position, reports any unsafe condition immediately.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift Instructor or able to obtain such within 6 months of employment.
  • Must have OSHA 30 Certification or able to obtain such within 6 months of employment.
  • Train the Trainer first aid, CPR, AED certification within 1 year of employment.
  • Willing to travel 10% of time.
  • Ability to deal with and handle a difficult problems and situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • High motivation, service, and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Administers and implements companywide occupational safety programs and serves as the coordinator for the occupational safety programs.
  • Plans, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates departmental occupational safety programs.
  • Works directly with Chief Growth Officer, HSE (Health, Safety, Environmental) Manager and HR to create and utilize existing procedures and protocols and to have all documentation and paperwork managed and filed in a consistent manner and communicated with team.
  • Assures safety programs and procedures implemented by Corporate are being followed for the benefit and welfare of employees.
  • Addresses issues and manage tasks related to safety to reduce company’s liability for risks management and insurance purposes.
  • Helps drive health and safety by motivating employees to promote awareness and provide leadership on issues of health and safety.
  • Fosters new ideas to improve the safety program as well as reduce the environmental footprint of the facility.
  • Provides task training on all equipment and tools.
  • Assures regular safety meetings are held and attended.
  • Coordinates inspections and trainings for company’s East facilities.
  • Effectively and appropriately communicates with department heads and supervisors.
  • Investigates certain safety complaints, near misses, injuries, or makes sure proper authorities are notified to investigate incidents.
  • Identifies health and safety concerns by surveying operations, occupational conditions, investigating violations and recommending prevention programs.
  • Accompanies injured employees to designated medical providers.
  • Travels to other locations and responds to second shift incidents.
  • Conducts and communicates regular IE audits.
  • Conducts weekly health and safety inspections and measures all aspects of health and safety and audit compliance with the respective programs.
  • Promotes a safe working environment by coordinating plant inspections and reporting statistics.
  • Complies with all applicable legislation and regulations by advising management on needed actions.
  • Stays current with all legislated safety training.
  • Maintains regular and consistent job attendance, comes to work on time.
  • Follows and complies with IE Core Values.
  • Follows and complies with IE safety program including IE’s Cardinal Safety Rules.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area at all times.
