About The Position

The Safety Coordinator will help improve workplace safety for the company by assisting the health and safety department with various administrative tasks. Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years have expanded throughout the Midwest.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

  • Previous experience in transportation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promote and reinforce a strong safety-first culture across all operations
  • Receive and document incident and accident reports, gather critical details, and notify appropriate departments promptly
  • Provide guidance on hazardous materials regulations and ensure compliance with proper shipping procedures
  • Assist in coordinating safety initiatives related to accident prevention, workplace safety, and risk management programs
  • Respond to employee and driver inquiries regarding safety policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Communicate with drivers to obtain missing documentation and ensure timely submission of required records
  • Collect and organize investigation materials, including photos, incident reports, witness statements, and police reports
  • Maintain accurate and organized safety records by converting paper files into digital formats
  • Conduct audits of safety and compliance files to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards
  • Update and maintain safety documentation, logs, and tracking spreadsheets for accuracy and compliance reporting
  • Prepare onboarding and compliance packets for new trucks entering the fleet
  • Support the Safety Department with administrative tasks and other related duties as assigned
