Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Strong communications skills; both verbal and written
  • Basic Knowledge of OSHA Compliance & California Regulations
  • Team player
  • Must be self-motivated and work independently
  • Intermediate skills in Excel ,Word and PowerPoint
  • Able to communicate with others by telephone and in person
  • Office setting with exposure to warehouse environment as the work being performed requires
  • Quick on their feet, willing to be flexible with the work schedule and hours with possible weekends
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
  • 1 year of safety coordinator experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage all safety related files.
  • Learn how to navigate the Hyster Tracker System
  • Provide Training and Certify Forklift Operators on written and driving test
  • Sends out reports via email on facility housekeeping audits, weekly safety reports, OSHA trainings, safety committee minutes, monthly inspections fire extinguishers, lighting & fans, weekly MHE hours, monthly MHE hours.
  • Help Safety Manager Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits to comply with company policies.
  • Provides Safety Training to Forklift Operators based on IRC determinations on weekly basis.
  • Attend safety meetings given by agencies on monthly basis and this includes changing schedule hours to meet the business need.
  • Conducts along with Safety Manager monthly Safety self-audits.
  • Assist the operation with annual audits.
  • Reports any safety issues to the Safety Manager.
  • Audits all first aid kits and/or safety for facilities at least once a month.
  • Prepares meeting minutes, meeting notes and internal support materials.
  • Assist with projects as needed.
  • Assists in interpreting from English to Spanish as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
