About The Position

This job assumes responsibility for ensuring the safe and effective operational performance of assigned areas of the region. Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and or ergonomic factors. Ensure safety guidelines and procedures are implemented to promote the overall safety and security of the fitness centers. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience in a safety role
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental health and safety laws and regulations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to and experience working with and maintaining confidential information.
  • Ability to and experience working calmly under pressure and without supervision.
  • Knowledge of health and fitness program management principles including program development, operations, finance, audit, personnel and resource management generally acquired through coursework leading to a degree in Business/Accounting or a related field
  • Ability to move freely throughout and between locations.

Responsibilities

  • Development, implementation, and monitoring of site-specific safety plans with the assistance of the Director of operation (e.g. accident reporting process)
  • Monitor and Track operations to eliminate hazardous
  • Well-versed in all OSHA dictations; focused on prevention, will need to be diligent and analytical.
  • Possess a keen eye for detail and a sensitivity for potential dangers.
  • Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks
  • Direct accident investigation procedures
  • Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions
  • Organize and conduct OFC training plans
  • Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
  • Intervene in unsafe activities or operations
  • Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on OSHA matters
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
