About The Position

In this role, you will support Safety Managers by supporting HSE audits/inspections through data entry to company’s database and raise actions against the relevant departments. You will follow up on audit findings and ensure closure within due date. You will participate in departmental projects as per the Safety Improvement Plan, including coordinating, record keeping, planning and organizing. You will assist in coordinating and organizing safety training for SMS and Occupational Health requirements (e.g. hearing testing, fit testing). You will regularly monitor Aviation Safety and HS&E Training completion data. You will support and organize applicable safety meetings. You will record meeting minutes for Safety Review Boards and Safety Action Group meetings within the Aviation business. You will generate and reconcile purchase orders for the Safety & QA Department. You will assist with records related to workplace inspections & audits. You will provide administrative support to Babcock’s health and safety committees. You will assist in administration and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – BC Only. You will assist with the administration, document control and maintenance of MySDS, Air Maestro and SharePoint. You will assist with coordination and organization of annual drills (fire drills, spill drills, ERPs) and perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Being flexible, able to adjust to multiple demands or shifting priorities
  • Detail oriented and organized with accurate record keeping and data entry skills
  • Effective organization skills and a desire to handle administrative duties
  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Confidence in utilizing various software applications
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Discreet and able to securely handle confidential information
  • Ability to carry out day to day tasks with minimal supervision or direction
  • Ability to work collaboratively with management at different levels within the organization
  • Ability to establish and build healthy working relations and partnerships with management, coworkers, contractors, clients, vendors and related stakeholders
  • A diploma level education in Business Administration, Health, Safety and Environmental or any other relevant diploma.
  • 2+ years’ work experience
  • Eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance

  • A background in Aviation Safety and HSE is preferred but not required
