Requirements

  • 2–5 years of EHS experience in wind energy, utilities, power generation, or heavy industrial settings.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state regulatory requirements.
  • Communication and training with the ability to engage diverse work groups.
  • Climb wind turbines and work at heights up to 300 ft+
  • Proficient in computer-based reporting tools
  • Degree in Occupational Safety or other related field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in wind turbine operations, maintenance, or construction environments.
  • Professional EHS certifications (e.g., OSHA 30/500, CSP, CHST, STS, and EMT).
  • Experience with incident investigation methodologies (TapRoot, 5-Why).
  • Knowledge of environmental programs such as SPCC

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly safety audits of work being conducted inside of turbines, O/M facilities, yards, and other work sites.
  • Incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.
  • Support Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs) of high‑risk work activities (e.g., working at heights, electrical work, crane and rigging, confined space, LOTO).
  • Facilitate employee safety training and toolbox talks.
  • Tracking, reporting, and analyzation of leading and lagging safety metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Travel to work locations up to 80% of the time to improve performance standards
  • Conduct environmental inspections related to waste management, hazardous materials, and spill prevention.
  • Support environmental reporting, audits, and sustainability programs.
  • Developing, updating, and implementing site-specific EHS procedures.
  • Maintain documentation, records, and reports observing regulatory and company requirements.
  • Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and readiness activities.
  • Engage employees to build a positive safety culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
