Safety and Location Software Engineer
About The Position
As a Software Engineer on the Safety and Location team, you will be working with the teams responsible for designing and productizing innovative safety features like Emergency SOS Live Video, Crash Detection, Fall Detection, and SOS via Satellite to name a few. By collaborating with other product development groups across Apple, you’ll push the industry boundaries of what wireless systems can do and improve the product experience for our customers across the world. This position requires someone comfortable with all aspects of software development, who thrives in a multifaceted multifunctional organization, is not afraid to debate ideas openly, and is flexible enough to take on requirements that evolve dynamically due to changing customer needs and regulations. The environment is fast-paced, requiring the ability to work autonomously and to manage the aggressive delivery schedules. Suitable candidates should have a strong background in Computer Engineering, excellent problem solving skills, and passion for improving existing processes and tools. The right mix of technical, organizational, and communication skills is the key to success. Attention to detail and a proven ability to manage priorities are essential.
Requirements
- Strong Software Engineering skills including design, programming (C, C++, Python, Git) and debugging
- Experience crafting APIs and broad experience in system design
- Well versed in software design paradigms and software development best practices, including development with Gen AI assisted and agentic workflows
- Excellent analytical, programming, and debugging skills

- Familiarity with basics of RF or location estimation technologies

- A creative mindset with a track record of bringing innovative ideas to life in safety-critical or user-facing products
- Experience with Objective-C or Swift programming
