The Safety and Facilities Manager plays a critical role in protecting that reputation by ensuring that ACEMCO facilities operate in safe, compliant, secure, and well-maintained conditions. This role oversees facility standards, environmental conditions, and workplace safety compliance while supporting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Industrial Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of safety or facility management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and MIOSHA regulations.
  • Experience with incident investigations and safety compliance programs.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee comprehensive cleaning programs across production, warehouse, office, and common areas.
  • Ensure overhead structures, hard-to-reach areas, and plant floors remain clean and audit ready.
  • Establish sanitation schedules, inspections, and documentation to maintain facility standards.
  • Manage year-round landscaping, snow removal, and exterior upkeep for all ACEMCO facilities.
  • Ensure sidewalks, entrances, and outdoor walkways remain safe and accessible.
  • Oversee parking lot maintenance including pothole repair, striping, signage, pavement condition monitoring, and lighting inspections.
  • Maintain interior flooring systems including concrete, coatings, and tile surfaces.
  • Coordinate floor cleaning, scrubbing, and refinishing as necessary.
  • Address floor damage promptly to prevent hazards and maintain compliance with safety standards.
  • Ensure walkways, markings, and pedestrian paths are clearly maintained.
  • Establish cleaning routines that ensure equipment remains free from debris, buildup, and contamination.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance teams to maintain equipment cleanliness.
  • Maintain plant appearance through paint maintenance, corrosion control, and facility upkeep.
  • Manage facility security systems including: Rhombus camera and monitoring systems Johnson Controls access and alarm systems
  • Ensure buildings are properly secured after operating hours.
  • Maintain employee access permissions and security protocols.
  • Monitor alerts and escalate potential security issues when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations including OSHA, MIOSHA, and fire prevention standards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and coordinate facility inspections.
  • Maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A, and 301) and required safety documentation.
  • Maintain the company-wide Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program.
  • Report workplace injuries to the workers’ compensation carrier and assist with incident investigations.
  • Identify root causes of incidents and support implementation of corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety policies and procedures including Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, and emergency response protocols.
  • Monitor safety trends and recommend proactive improvements.
  • Ensure safety equipment and first aid supplies are properly maintained and accessible.
  • Oversee external service providers including janitorial services, landscaping contractors, waste management vendors, floor maintenance providers, and security system vendors.
  • Standardize service expectations across facilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality and cost control.
