In this role, you’ll lead Environmental, Safety (MIOSHA), and Training programs for the Facilities Management department. You’ll partner with supervisors and staff to build a strong culture of safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop training that protects employees and County facilities. What You’ll Do • Manage and maintain Environmental, Safety (MIOSHA), and Training programs for Facilities Management • Work with supervisors to analyze, identify, and document opportunities for improvement in safety and environmental practices • Coordinate audits with outside firms to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations • Inspect above- and below-ground facilities to identify hazards and reduce risk • Conduct accident investigations and recommend strategies to improve safe work practices • Research, develop, coordinate, and deliver training programs for Facilities Management employees, including safety, environmental, and job-related topics • Maintain training records and program documentation • Use Countywide and department-specific software to track, document, and complete assignments Why You’ll Love It • Make a direct impact on employee safety and workplace well-being • Help build a proactive safety culture across a large operational department • Combine fieldwork, analysis, and training in a dynamic, people-focused role • Work closely with leadership and staff to improve processes and prevent incidents • Build a meaningful career protecting both people and the environment in public service
