About The Position
We are looking for a practical, field-focused Safety Advisor to support our residential construction operations. You will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture across active sites, ensuring compliance with Alberta OHS legislation, and supporting our teams through inspections, training, and proactive risk management.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ construction safety experience
- Residential construction experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of Alberta OHS and COR requirements
- Proven experience with inspections, investigations, and safety training
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and digital safety tools (e.g., SiteDocs)
Nice To Haves
- NCSO designation preferred
Responsibilities
- Support and promote compliance with Alberta OHS legislation, company policies, and safe work practices
- Serve as the main safety point of contact for employees and contractors
- Perform site inspections and safety audits
- Investigate incidents and near misses and track corrective actions
- Deliver safety orientations and onboarding for staff and trades
- Coach and support site supervisors and trades on safe work practices
- Maintain safety documentation, reports, and tracking metrics
- Support COR certification and ensure audit readiness
- Monitor trade compliance, PPE use, and housekeeping standards
- Lead safety meetings and address contractor non-compliance
- Compile safety summaries and trend insights for leadership
