As a Safeguards Enforcement Operations Specialist, you will be at the forefront of maintaining the integrity of our AI systems by reviewing user interactions, enforcing policy guidelines, and collaborating across teams to continuously improve our safety mechanisms focused on biological threat identification and CBRNE controls. Important context: this position may involve exposure to explicit content spanning sexual, violent, or psychologically disturbing topics. ITAR-controlled - U.S. person requirement applies. Due to Anthropic's obligations under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR, 22 CFR Part 120 et seq.), this position requires access to ITAR-controlled technical data. Candidates must be a U.S. person as defined in 22 CFR 120.62: a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), including asylees and refugees, unless the candidate holds or can obtain U.S. government export authorization.

Requirements

• Experience with biological threat, biosecurity, or CBRNE-related policy content
• quick learner, proactive, detail-oriented, and have strong communication skills.
• U.S. person requirement applies (U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Responsibilities

• Review customer signals, user exchanges, and code to identify potential policy violations related to biological weapons, pathogens, and bioengineering misuse.
• Enforce established CBRNE workflows and policy guidelines with precision and care, supporting MTA and 3P/C4E review needs.
• Collaborate with Strategy Analysts, Policy Managers, and Threat Intelligence Investigators to identify emerging trends, highlight policy gaps, and flag content for classifier refinement.
• Produce weekly reports on operational workflows.
• Handle customer communications and appeals.
• Provide surge review support and content labeling as needed.
• Triage cross-functional requests.
