Safe Place Coordinator
About The Position
The Safe Place Coordinator will engage organizations, schools, and businesses to become Safe Place partner sites. This role involves creating and delivering trainings on Safe Place and youth experiencing homelessness, connecting with youth and the community to foster pathways and access to services, creating outreach materials including social media content, and maintaining accurate and timely records for program data. The position requires a high level of mobility to adapt to different situations, agency locations, or community locations. The employee may be routinely exposed to outdoor weather conditions, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. New Avenues for Youth is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in social work, communications, psychology, or related human services field -or- combination of work and lived personal experience facing housing barriers as a teen
- Experience creating and facilitating training
- Experience conducting outreach to youth who face multiple barriers
- Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, and active auto insurance
- Ability to swiftly move and adapt to different situations and tasks
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- Willingness to be routinely exposed to outdoor weather conditions
