About The Position

Metrocare programs focus on the issues that matter most in the lives of the children, families and adults we serve. The Safe Haven Manager is responsible for the management of the Safe Haven program in accordance with HUD requirements. This position supervises the clinical care staff and the support staff on all aspects of management for assigned staff. Services may include, but are not limited to, monitoring staff performance, managing monthly budget by tracking program expenses, and promoting linkage, advocacy, monitoring, crisis intervention and continuity of care for residents. The Safe Haven Program Manager ensures compliance with agency standards and HUD requirements. This position models positive work habits. Promotes the maximization of the consumer’s potential level of functioning, reduces hospitalizations and aids in the successful reintegration of consumers into the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or other human service field.
  • Mental Health Experience: 4-5 years
  • Management/Supervisory Experience: 3 years minimum
  • Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain a Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.
  • Liability insurance is required if an employee will operate a personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business.
  • Must be insurable by Center’s liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to work with reports and numbers, above average excel skills needed
  • Ability to calculate moderately complex figures and amounts to accurately report activities and budgets.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to utilize Internet for resources.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of assigned direct reports management.
  • Provides guidance, direction, and supervision to staff to ensure quality care and implementation of processes.
  • Collaborates with community partners to obtain referrals into the program.
  • Responsible for problem solving and correction action implementation as needed.
  • Participate in the hiring and supervision of site staff.
  • Develops and implements strategies for performance improvement related to key performance indicators, including but not limited to, productivity, charting timeliness, and quality improvement.
  • Fosters an environment of continuous quality improvement (CQI).
  • Ensures that an on-going CQI process is developed and implemented and provides oversight to the CQI process.
  • Adheres to documentation requirements related to Quality Management and regulatory agencies, such as CARF, CCBHC, and the Texas Administrative Code.
  • Responsible for a creative collaborative working environment and team building.
  • Maintains schedules for the Community Living Specialist to ensure on-site staff support.
  • Monitors and responds to on-call schedule for weekend coverage.
  • Provides coverage, as needed, if short staffed.
  • Provides oversight of meal planning, preparation of meals and maintains inventory of food and supplies.
  • Assists with cleaning program site/s as needed.
  • Provide clinical supervision, education, and training as required by various contracts and regulatory agencies.
  • Establishes and maintains the highest standard of quality care and ethical practice.
  • Identifies and implements strategies for overall program development and growth in conjunction with the supervision of the Clinical Manager.
  • Actively participates in special projects and takes leadership roles as requested.
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the ethical standards of conduct, state contract, appropriate professional standards, and applicable state/federal laws.
  • Exercises sound judgement and maintains current knowledge of the company’s organization structure, personnel policies, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
