About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a SACC Caregiver at Masonic Heights, Violet, and Rodgers Elementary Schools. This part-time position involves providing quality care and supervision to children in our School-Aged Child Care (SACC) program. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children, supporting their social, emotional, and physical development while ensuring adherence to all safety and program guidelines. We offer flexible scheduling options, with both before and after school shifts available.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with children and families
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including before and after school
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
  • Background check clearance and compliance with all state licensing requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment as necessary
  • Candidate must attend an orientation/training session and complete required district and state credentialing requirements (background check, fingerprinting)

  • Relevant experience in child care or education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage with children during various activities, including homework help, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and organized games
  • Create a safe and welcoming environment for all children, ensuring their well-being and emotional support
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff regarding daily activities and any concerns that may arise
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities and programs that promote learning and development
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the care area, ensuring all materials and equipment are safe and accessible
  • Monitor children's behavior and implement positive discipline strategies as needed
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required
  • Adhere to all state regulations and organizational policies regarding child care and safety
  • Provide first aid and emergency care as needed, following established protocols
