About The Position

The School of Communication Student Advisory Board (SAB) advocates for the needs of students in the School of Communication by serving as the student voice to the administration, representing the School of Communication to various constituencies, offering peer mentorship, and generating and implementing programs and initiatives designed to enhance the student experience within the School of Communication. Members are expected to meet weekly to engage in trainings on School of Communication and Chapman University resources.

Requirements

  • A member of the School of Communication Student Advisory Board.
  • School of Communication student.
  • Comfortable with public speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Attend mandatory weekly meetings.
  • Attend at least five Student Advisory Board and/or School of Communication events per semester.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Student Advisory Board handbook.
  • Commit to your role and responsibilities on the Student Advisory Board.
  • Help guide students in their academic success, personal development, and connection to the Chapman community.
  • Serve as a role model, resource, and source of support for students of the School of Communication.
  • Actively seek out meeting needs of peers pertaining to the School of Communication.
