The AMD CG (Compute-Graphics) Performance and Power Engineering Team carries the duty of ensuring AMD APU (Ryzen) & GPU (Radeon) products deliver performance leadership and superior power efficiency. We work with various cross-functional teams that allows us to engage in all sorts of work that impacts current and future products. This role offers the opportunity to show your passion towards CPU, APU, and GPU technology to provide users with the best possible experience. The team is passionate about power and performance attainment and product definition with primary responsibilities in post-silicon bring-up, feature and workload optimization and characterization, debug and product optimization. Successful candidate will assume responsibility for post-silicon activities related to power and performance characterization and optimization of AMD CG products across gaming, productivity, compute and AI workloads.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of silicon power and system performance, system architecture, and validation strategy
  • Debug techniques and methodologies
  • Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Extensive experience with board/platform-level debugging, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
  • Extremely organized and a strong multi-tasker
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer / Electrical Engineering preferred with 6-8+ years industry experience

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AI model usage an asset
  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python) an asset
  • Knowledge of current AI models and their usage

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to track and execute test plans for power and performance feature validation, characterization and optimization
  • Debugging issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs
  • Driving continuous improvement and technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities for test plan execution and the product itself, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives
  • Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks
  • Leading collaborative approach with multiple teams
