About The Position

The RVT/Mobile Unit Coordinator will assist the veterinarian with seeing pets through our Mobile Unit Outreach program with patient procedures which includes checking in appointments, admitting and discharging surgical patients, working lead in surgery prep, induction, monitoring anesthesia and recovery, etc. Will maintain accurate medical records, track all data points and reports, administer prescribed medications (including IV, IM, SQ, and PO), assist in surgery as needed as well as oversee inventory, ordering, and tracking supplies. Ensure that safety and sanitation procedures are followed at all times. Will also work directly with Companion Animal Hospital to pick up/drop off controlled substances and complete drug logs for each visit. Assist the Outreach Specialist in scheduling clients and coordinating site visits and perform weekly inventory of supplies and medications. Ensure mobile unit is cleaned after each visit and prepared for the next. Will drive the mobile unit as necessary.

Requirements

  • Current California RVT license.
  • Knowledge of surgery, laboratory, and medicine as it pertains to small animal medicine.
  • Knowledge and confidence in restraint and handling of companion animal species.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to work in a continuously changing, multiple doctor mobile unit environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal doctor orders without direct supervision.
  • Ability to safely lift objects weighing up to 55 lbs. or up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Valid Driver's license and a clean driving record.
