About The Position

This Grants Administrator/Financial Specialist supports the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program by managing the financial and administrative components of Virginia Works’ grant activities. This position ensures accurate and timely fiscal reporting, compliance with state and federal regulations, and effective distribution of grant funds through competitive processes. Working closely with the RHT Program Manager and Rural Healthcare Apprenticeship Consultant, the Grants Administrator oversees financial operations, monitors expenditures, reconciles budgets, and ensures subrecipients adhere to all applicable policies and requirements. The role includes developing grant agreements, issuing award letters, and managing reimbursement and closeout processes. Additionally, this position provides technical assistance and training to partners, reviews certifications, processes budget revisions, and prepares monthly and annual reports to maintain program integrity and accountability. This is a restricted position funded by a five-year grant, effective March 1, 2026, through September 30, 2031. Continued funding is contingent upon annual performance reviews, which will determine eligibility for funding in each subsequent year.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of financial management, grants administration, and budget/expenditure tracking, including compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain audit-ready documentation.
