PT Runner/Busser at The Front Yard
About The Position
The Front Yard at The Garland is seeking a Part-Time Restaurant Busser/Runner to assist with the delivery and service of hotel food and beverage offerings to restaurant guests. This role involves communicating with guests and staff, understanding food menus, and adhering to service standards. The position requires maintaining a clean and organized work environment, polishing and transporting wares, and effectively managing service responsibilities. The Busser/Runner will also be responsible for cleaning and resetting tables, resolving customer complaints, and demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt based on feedback. Punctuality and preparedness for work are essential.
Requirements
- Able to read, write, and speak verbally in English.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with the hospitality industry.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective relationship with all department management, staff, personnel, and the general public.
- One year or more of service assistance in a fine dining outlet.
Responsibilities
- Assists with delivery and service of food and beverage offerings to restaurant guests.
- Communicates with guests, management, and staff.
- Understands and complies with policies, procedures, and job requirements.
- Fully understands the food menu, including ingredients, preparation, and service.
- Delivers all required Standards of Service to the guest, including Sequence of Service, water delivery, table setting, clearing, and plate handling.
- Maintains a neat, clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Transports and polishes clean wares, utensils, and accessories.
- Complies with opening and closing duties, as well as running side work.
- Direct and consistent communication with the culinary and management team.
- Listens to and resolves customer complaints regarding service, product, and personnel.
- Effectively processes service responsibilities from service staff (e.g., Servers and Bartenders).
- Meticulously cleans and resets dining room tables and booths during and after meals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates ability to learn and change behaviors based on feedback from a manager.
- Routinely shows up to work in a timely fashion prepared to work.
