About The Position

We are seeking a senior Ruby on Rails developer to join our team. This role requires strong skills in Ruby on Rails, Node.js, AWS, Docker, Jenkins, and Postgres. The ideal candidate will have experience with CI/CD pipelines, AWS deployments, and the MacOS operating system. Additionally, strong Java skills are beneficial for future project phases. This position requires an individual who can work with minimal oversight and is comfortable setting up and running development environments on MacOS.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of AWS.
• Familiarity with Docker.
• Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise in Postgres database.
• Exposure to the MacOS operating system.
• Ability to work with minimal oversight.
• Senior-level development experience.
• Strong Java skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a 2024 upgrade of Ruby from version 2.6.6 to 3.2.
• Upgrade Rails from version 6.0 to 7.1.
• Update Node.js from version 13.7 to 20.
• Manage and deploy applications on AWS infrastructure.
• Utilize Docker for containerization, potentially updating outdated Docker images.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Work with Postgres as the primary database.
• Develop and maintain applications using Ruby on Rails and Node.js.
• Ensure smooth operation and deployment on MacOS environments.
• Collaborate on projects requiring strong Java skills post-application upgrade.
