About The Position

Hultec is seeking a skilled Mold Technician Operator to set up, operate, and maintain rubber press equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings 1–3 years of hands-on experience with machine setup experience, a strong quality mindset, and the mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot process issues and keep production running efficiently and safely.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational certification in plastics or rubber molding technology preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mold/die setup from any environment that may include compression, injection, or stamping presses.
  • Ability to read blueprints and specifications, and to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude; familiarity with hydraulics and pneumatics is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60lbs. This includes mold inserts, dies, tooling, material bags.
  • Use hand and power tools with repetitive grasping and find finger dexterity
  • Have close vision, color perception, and depth perception adequate to read blueprints, gauges, and machine displays.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery.
  • Tolerate exposure to heat, noise, vibration, fumes, and moving machinery; wear required PPE throughout shift.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and monitor molding machines and rubber presses (compression and transfer) throughout the production run.
  • Perform mold and die changes, adjustments, and startups on both plastic injection and rubber press equipment.
  • Monitor and adjust process parameters — temperature, pressure, cure time, and cycle time — to maintain part quality and production efficiency.
  • Inspect molded and pressed parts for defects, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on molds, dies, and routine cleaning operations.
  • Accurately document production data, downtime, scrap rates, and quality inspection results.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Collaborate with quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve process deviations and improve yield.
  • Follow all company safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
