Rubber Material Prep (Aerospace Manufacturing)
About The Position
The Material Prep Lead manages the Rubber Prep department and works directly with the Manufacturing Manager and Rubber Department Supervisor. The role supports Rubber Molding and Specialized Seals, including scheduling and assigning work, overseeing and training employees, handling materials and inventory, and setting up and operating equipment for mixing, calendaring, and material preparation. The lead monitors process conditions and production data, supports quality and yield, and identifies opportunities for process and manufacturing improvements. The position also requires maintaining housekeeping and safety practices and assisting elsewhere in the facility as needed.

Responsibilities
- Set up and assign work for Material Prep department employees according to the schedule.
- Oversee employees in the Rubber Prep department for Rubber Molding and Specialized Seals.
- Follow BSS7107 and BAC5071 aerospace standards and best practices.
- Receive materials from the stockroom and enter them into inventory.
- Track inventory and expired materials.
- Conduct monthly cycle counts.
- Train or assist in training new employees and cross-train employees.
- Review redlined work orders when needed.
- Communicate directly with the Production Manager and/or Supervisor.
- Set up and operate machinery used for mixing, calendaring, and preparing Rubber department materials.
- Check and monitor process conditions to improve yield.
- Prioritize multiple assignments and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Assist throughout the facility as needed.
- Enter daily production data into Industrios.
- Suggest process and manufacturing improvements when opportunities exist.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
