About The Position

Metric Engineering is looking to hire a Full-Time Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) Operator to work a 1:45pm-10:15pm shift. The RTMC utilizes Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices such as cameras and dynamic message signs to monitor the roadways and provide traveler information in the greater Central Florida area. The RTMC Operator coordinates with partnering agencies to expedite response to incidents and promote quick clearance. The TMC dispatches Road Rangers and works with cutting edge technology including traffic signals, Connected Vehicles (CV), freeway management, arterial roadway management, express lanes and more. Operators will monitor and manage the roads using customized software for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Requirements

Experience as a police officer, fire fighter, EMT or Road Ranger is a must.
Ability to work 8-12 hour shifts, up to 40 hours a week.
Proficient computer skills are a must.
Ability to work in a team, prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Must be able to pass a Drug Screen and FBI Background check.
