As an NDT Assistant, you help ensure critical infrastructure—including pipelines, pressure vessels, and structural steel—is safe and reliable. You work with certified NDT Technicians to inspect materials using methods such as X-ray, ultrasound, and dye testing without damaging the materials. The role involves traveling to job sites, which may require early starts, overnight stays, or extended-distance travel. You prepare and set up inspection equipment, assist with inspections under a technician’s guidance, follow safety procedures, and help document results and clean up after inspections. Work takes place outdoors or in industrial environments and can involve long periods on your feet and physically demanding tasks. This role is presented as an entry point to a career in non-destructive testing. With training and certification, advancement paths may include Level II or III NDT Technician, testing specialist, Team Lead, Regional Inspector, Project Manager, or QA/QC roles. PROtect supports growth through advancement paths, training and certification support, and travel and relocation opportunities.
