About The Position
The RST Trainee (Rehabilitation Service Technician or Direct Care) provides hands-on care to people living with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other complex neurological conditions. The role works as part of a team to support clients’ recovery and quality of life at Special Tree’s specialty rehabilitation center in Romulus, Michigan, within Long-Term Care. The center provides specialized care and rehabilitation for individuals recovering from car accidents, strokes, and other life-altering events. The position is full time at 32 hours per week and pays $18.10 per hour. Shifts are eight or 12 hours, with the posting listing day and evening shift availability. No CNA certification is required. Applicants should be interested in direct patient care, treat others with dignity and respect, value reliability and teamwork, and be willing to learn and accept feedback. The selection process includes an employment application and a face-to-face interview.

Responsibilities
- Help patients during their recovery.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
- Track vital signs and share updates with the team.
- Record care activities in the electronic health record (PointClickCare).
- Offer reassurance and comfort to patients and families.
- Work as part of a team to care for clients.
