About The Position

This role involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data. The position designs and conducts research, which includes selecting data samples, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information using established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. The role also involves preparing reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and results. The position is within the UC Human Factors & Ergonomics Program, a joint program of the Division of Occupational, Environmental and Climate Medicine at UCSF and the Division of Environmental Health Sciences at UC Berkeley. The lab's primary location is the Richmond Field Station in the East Bay, and it is part of the Northern California Center of Occupational and Environmental Health. The team consists of approximately 20 students and staff. The program focuses on preparing students in human factors and ergonomics, with an emphasis on the relationship between biomechanical exposures and injuries, and on reducing injuries through prevention-through-design strategies.
