About The Position

Performs installation of aerospace components and systems per engineering drawings and specifications. Performs fabrication of aircraft interior components and subassemblies using hand and power tools. Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering documentation, and work instructions for installation and fabrication tasks. Uses hand tools, power tools, and equipment associated with installation and removal of aircraft interiors. Coordinates with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications and procedures. Applies standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as band saws, shears, sanders, and brakes. Removes and re-installs fasteners including nut plates, inserts, and other hardware used in aircraft installations. Uses material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work. Works with lead and higher skilled technicians to implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma techniques. Performs preparation and installation of aircraft interior items in accordance with quality standards.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • 4 years of applicable installation, fabrication, or related experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation is required.
  • Experience using hand and power tools associated with installation and fabrication is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace industry is preferred.
  • Ability to use material tracking systems for parts demand and work sign-off is required.
  • Ability to coordinate with supervision and inspection for quality compliance is required.
  • Willingness to work overtime as and when needed is required.
