About The Position

Fabricates complex high-quality furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using stationary and hand-held tools. Interprets material specifications and design or engineering drawings to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements. Utilizes a variety of woodworking tools and techniques for aircraft interior fabrication. Reads and interprets blueprints and engineering documentation for fabrication tasks. Uses hand and power tools associated with cabinetmaking and aircraft interior fabrication. Coordinates with supervision to ensure compliance with customer approved design samples. Complies with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and ensures protection of aircraft interiors. Works with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma techniques. Utilizes material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work. May accept lead responsibilities and mentor lesser skilled technicians.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • 4 years of experience in cabinetmaking.
  • Ability to read and interpret design or engineering drawings.
  • Experience using stationary and hand-held woodworking tools.
  • Knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and products.
  • Experience with material tracking systems for parts demand and work sign-off.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace industry.
  • Ability to work any shift and lift up to 40 pounds.
