About The Position

A registered therapist who is responsible for respiratory care given in any area of the hospital including special care units. Maintains appropriate documentation as required by administration, state, and federal authorities, and regulatory. May be assigned supervisory responsibilities when adequately prepared. In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
Satisfactory completion of the registry examination by the NBRC
Licensed to practice respiratory care in the state of Arkansas
BLS required
Delivers appropriate care to patients from neonatal through geriatrics with regards to age specific considerations
Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, associates, patients, and visitors

ACLS preferred but not required
