About The Position

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) is seeking one (1) Software Engineer 3 for the HHSC IT Administrative Applications Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team. This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining RPA solutions. The Software Engineer 3 will serve as a senior RPA developer and will be responsible for solution design, process automation, infrastructure support, collaboration with stakeholders, and continuous improvement activities. Technologies used include Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Automate, and Microsoft Azure. Primary responsibilities include developing, testing, troubleshooting, and deploying bots that automate critical business processes. This position operates in a fast-paced Agile environment using Kanban and Scrum methodologies.

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and sound judgment to plan and achieve goals.
  • Independently performs a wide range of complex tasks and may lead or direct the work of others.
  • A high degree of creativity, problem-solving ability, and professional latitude is expected.
  • Hands-on RPA development experience, including at least 4 years with Blue Prism.
  • 8 years Web development experience (HTML, JavaScript, DOM, HTTP protocol).
  • 8 years Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • 8 years Experience with RESTful web services.
  • Strong knowledge of DOM, HTTP protocol, JavaScript, and HTML.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years Preferred API development experience.
  • 4 years Preferred Experience with process discovery, requirements gathering, and solution architecture.
  • 4 years Preferred Proficiency in C#, Java, or Python.
  • 3 years Preferred Experience with Azure infrastructure and troubleshooting.
  • 3 years Preferred Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • 1 year Preferred Power Automate development experience.
  • 1 year Preferred Blue Prism Certification.
  • 1 year Preferred Microsoft Power Platform Developer Certification.
  • 1 year Preferred Experience supporting Health and Human Services or OIG.

Responsibilities

  • Developing software solutions by analyzing information needs, collaborating with end users, and evaluating system workflows, data utilization, and operational processes.
  • Identifying and resolving problem areas.
  • Preparing, designing, and implementing system specifications, technical standards, and programming components.
  • Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining RPA solutions.
  • Serving as a senior RPA developer.
  • Responsible for solution design, process automation, infrastructure support, collaboration with stakeholders, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Developing, testing, troubleshooting, and deploying bots that automate critical business processes.
  • Troubleshooting and validating HTTP responses.
  • Working in a fast-paced Agile environment using Kanban and Scrum methodologies.
