About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a ROW Agent to join our growing Right of Way team in Atlanta, Georgia. In this hybrid role, you will support infrastructure and transportation projects by assisting with property acquisition, relocation services, property management, valuation support, and right-of-way coordination activities. Working under the guidance of senior right-of-way professionals and project managers, you will serve as a key liaison between clients, property owners, attorneys, governmental agencies, and real estate professionals. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects while developing expertise in right-of-way acquisition, relocation assistance, property research, and land management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field and 2+ years of professional experience in right-of-way, real estate, property management, land acquisition, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience conducting property research, title review, document preparation, or records management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project documentation systems.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently under general supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Active real estate license or appraisal-related credential issued by the State Real Estate Commission or Appraisal Board.
  • Experience supporting transportation, utility, municipal, or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of right-of-way acquisition procedures, relocation assistance programs, and eminent domain processes.
  • Familiarity with appraisal principles, valuation methodologies, and property negotiations.
  • A customer-focused approach when working with property owners and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • The ability to balance independent decision-making with effective communication and escalation when appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients professionally in interactions with property owners, tenants, attorneys, real estate professionals, and government agencies.
  • Prepare property owner and tenant notification packages and maintain detailed project documentation.
  • Assist in negotiating the acquisition of property rights needed for public and private infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct title research by reviewing county records and verifying ownership information.
  • Provide relocation assistance to displaced residential and business occupants, including supporting needs assessments, relocation plans, offer packages, and claim processing.
  • Research property characteristics, land use, market activity, and comparable sales data to support valuation and appraisal efforts.
  • Conduct property inventories and assist with the management, sale, or lease of acquired properties.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for legal proceedings and maintain organized contract and project files.
  • Obtain required right-of-way occupancy permits and coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Support demolition and site clearance activities, including contractor coordination and oversight.
  • Maintain accurate records and project tracking information to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams and provide guidance to junior staff and support personnel on assigned projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of project and client needs.
