About The Position

Pan American Properties is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Tub & Tile Refinishing Technician to join our roving Maintenance & Renovations team serving apartment communities throughout the Orange County and Long Beach region. This is a hands-on specialty role focused on reglazing, resurfacing, repairing, and refinishing bathtubs, shower surrounds, countertops, vanities, sinks, fiberglass, acrylic, and other applicable surfaces within our multifamily apartment communities. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, understands that great refinishing starts with great preparation, and can independently manage assigned jobs from prep through final inspection.

Requirements

• Previous tub, tile, countertop, fiberglass, acrylic, reglazing, resurfacing, or related surface refinishing experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to independently manage assigned jobs and work efficiently.
• Ability to communicate professionally with residents, property teams, Dispatch, and Supervisors.
• Comfortable using a smartphone and technology for communication and work-order management.
• Must be able to speak, write, and understand conversational English.
• Reliable personal transportation.
• Valid California driver's license.
• Valid proof of automobile insurance.
• Must be fully authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Reglaze and refinish bathtubs.
• Refinish shower walls, surrounds, and other bathroom surfaces.
• Refinish countertops, vanities, sinks, and other applicable surfaces.
• Repair and restore fiberglass and acrylic surfaces.
• Complete refinishing projects in both vacant and occupied apartment homes.
• Restore worn or damaged surfaces to achieve a clean, durable, professional appearance.
• Repair chips, cracks, scratches, stains, and other surface damage.
• Clean, sand, strip, mask, and prime surfaces as needed.
• Remove or protect fixtures and surrounding areas before beginning work.
• Identify existing surface conditions and determine the appropriate repair and refinishing process.
• Ensure surfaces are properly prepared for strong adhesion and a long-lasting finish.
• Apply primers, coatings, finishes, and refinishing products according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Use professional application techniques to produce smooth, consistent finishes.
• Match colors and finishes when required.
• Inspect completed work for coverage, consistency, durability, and appearance.
• Complete touch-ups or corrections when needed.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship from start to finish.
• Travel throughout the Orange County and Long Beach region to complete scheduled refinishing projects at multiple Pan American Properties communities.
• Receive, review, and update assigned work orders electronically.
• Use mobile applications and company systems to document job progress and completion.
• Communicate with Supervisors, Dispatch, Property Management, and other team members throughout the workday.
• Provide timely updates regarding job status, material needs, delays, or additional repairs identified.
• Follow electronic schedules, work orders, and company procedures.
• Communicate professionally with residents and property staff when working in occupied homes.
• Follow all company and workplace safety procedures.
• Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Safely handle and use coatings, chemicals, solvents, and refinishing products.
• Follow required ventilation and hazardous-material procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Follow manufacturer instructions and safety requirements for the products and equipment you use.
