About The Position

The Rover / Floating Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining, operating, and repairing building systems across two assigned locations, providing coverage 2 days per week at Location A and 3 days per week at Location B. This role ensures all building systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Flexibility, strong troubleshooting skills, and excellent customer service are key to success in this position. The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between assigned locations
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 3–5 years of building engineering or facilities maintenance experience
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple sites

Nice To Haves

Technical or trade school preferred
EPA Universal Certification preferred (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical systems
Respond to service requests and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner
Perform preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
Monitor building automation systems and adjust as needed
Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, and maintenance activities
Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed
Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
Maintain a professional presence and provide excellent customer service to tenants and site contacts
Support special projects, after-hours work, or emergency response as required
