About The Position

As a Building Engineer at JLL, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and optimizing critical building systems that keep our clients' facilities running seamlessly. This role places you in a dynamic environment where technical expertise meets problem-solving, as you ensure mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems operate at peak performance. You'll work collaboratively with property management teams and external vendors to deliver exceptional facility operations, responding to both planned maintenance schedules and emerging challenges with equal proficiency. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in commercial building maintenance or similar environment
  • EPA 608 Certification (Universal Technician for CFC refrigerants)
  • Strong commercial HVAC knowledge with demonstrated troubleshooting and repair capabilities
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and reach for extended periods as required to access equipment
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Availability for on-call work and emergency response as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and documentation
  • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and control platforms
  • Minor electrical maintenance and repair experience
  • Plumbing maintenance and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems to keep facility operations running at optimum performance levels
  • Perform preventive maintenance programs including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing components while recording readings and making necessary adjustments
  • Respond to service requests with minimal disruption to building occupants, ensuring work areas are properly cleaned up and restored after completion
  • Monitor and evaluate vendor and contractor performance regarding quality, competitive pricing, and adherence to maintenance standards
  • Manage inventory control for tools, supplies, and equipment parts, ensuring adequate stock levels and developing reliable sourcing relationships
  • Lead or assist with event setup and teardown activities including electrical, audio visual coordination, and collaboration with security teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment readings, and service request summaries to identify and resolve recurrent operational issues
