About The Position

The position will help routesetting the Wellbeing Center’s climbing & bouldering wall. Other responsibilities will include facilitating climbing during weekday and weekend open hours. This position requires night and weekend work. This position is not eligible for sponsorship of non-immigrant or immigrant visa status through Wake Forest University. All eligible applicants are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Prior routesetting experience
• Ability to work at heights
• Evening and weekend work required and flexible schedule.
• Available to provide leadership and support part-time and student staff during times facilities and programs are operating.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working at a climbing gym
• Teaching experience

Responsibilities

• Help set a regular rotation of climbing routes at climbing & bouldering wall with a variety of difficulty levels in conjunction with student employees and volunteers.
• Help clean climbing holds, volumes, and routesetting areas.
• Maintenance of climbing wall inventory and records.
• Assist with custom programming at the climbing & bouldering wall.
• Work weekend and weekday shifts, especially during academic breaks and over the summer.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director and Manager of Outdoor Pursuits.
