About The Position

The CNC Router Specialist is responsible for training and operating CNC routing machinery to cut aluminum and plastic parts/materials as needed to manufacture signage products.

Requirements

  • Minimum six months of experience working as a CNC equipment operator.
  • Required training in vocational school, related on-the-job experience, or a high school diploma or GED.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • Frequently lift and/or move items over 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Responsible for following all safety, and security of, areas assigned or as directed by Hilton Displays policy.
  • Report all accidents, however slight, to your supervisor immediately.
  • Never leave the premises without reporting any accident that occurred during your working time.
  • If you should need medical treatment during your non-work hours, you should contact your supervisor.
  • Refrain from unsafe work practices, involvement in unethical situations, dishonest/fraudulent work behaviors, or other behavior which would damage the organization's good standing in the community.
  • Observe or have knowledge of unsafe, unethical, dishonest, or fraudulent work practices, and report it immediately to his/her supervisor, another member of management, or contact the human resources department.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Plant Supervisors and CAD Department to optimize; part production rates, router operator training, machine maintenance, and development of strategies for new parts and processes.
  • Set up, modify and operate CNC router machine to cut aluminum and plastic parts/materials.
  • Read and interpret work order sheets, blueprints and engineering drawings to determine the workload requirements.
  • Gather, load and position required materials into CNC router machine for processing.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance as needed to prevent jams, deterioration and other processing issues.
  • Document and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department team lead/supervisor.
  • Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using various measuring tools.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following prescribed safety regulations.
  • Ensure tasks are completed as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Train new operators to all items above.
  • Attend meetings as needed and designated by management.
