About The Position

JP Mascaro & Sons, a locally owned and operated private family-owned company, is experiencing record growth and success. Founded in 1964 with one truck, it has grown into one of the largest and most successful fully integrated solid waste companies serving the mid-Atlantic area. The Great Valley Division, located in Bridgeport, PA, is seeking a Route Supervisor to lead their team. The company aims to develop, coach, and train future leaders within J.P. Mascaro & Son. Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of previous leadership experience
  • A valid driver’s license
  • CDL strongly preferred or ability to obtain one within one year of employment required
  • Ability to lift over 50lbs frequently
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong skills related to Microsoft Office software products, specifically Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Allocate daily manpower and equipment for assigned areas to ensure service, efficiency, and safety.
  • Ensure all customers are served efficiently and at the highest service level by coordinating with customers, municipalities, and companies, and ensuring adherence to contracts, Code, DOT, and OSHA compliance.
  • Drive trash trucks or use a pickup truck to cover missed routes or assist when the division is short of drivers.
  • Train and maintain training for all assigned employees on proper service, equipment operation, safety, and company policies.
  • Establish and maintain route efficiency, re-evaluating routes as needed and redistributing workloads for proper coverage.
  • Conduct investigations for all injuries and incidents, identifying root causes, and providing consistent discipline and retraining.
  • Review daily documentation, including VCRs, driver logs, and pre & post-trip inspections, and follow up as needed.
  • Evaluate neighborhoods and customers to resolve safety issues.
  • Establish and maintain timely and consistent interactions with employees to motivate them and understand their career goals.
  • Foster a culture of trust and open communication with employees.
  • Perform special projects and other job duties as assigned.
