About The Position

The Route Supervisor supports the Director in the safe, timely, and effective delivery of linen and other assigned products to customers. This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills to maintain professional relationships with Route Service Representatives (drivers), clients, and other personnel. The supervisor will assist with recruiting, training, managing, and disciplining RSRs to ensure a highly effective and safety-focused team. Oversight of transportation vehicles, vendor relations, and data tracking/reporting for operational and client support are key responsibilities. The role also involves communicating issues and concerns related to transportation and logistics to management and compiling data for reports.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written formal and oral presentations from hourly staff to Director.
  • Ability to maintain organization and control in an ever-changing environment.
  • Must exhibit self-initiative, accountability, flexible and good leadership skills as well as interpersonal savvy.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of linen services, healthcare linen needs, infection control.
  • High level knowledge of commercial vehicle operations, service needs, safety principles.
  • Above-average time management skills including ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong professional relationships with Route Service Representatives (drivers), clients, and other personnel.
  • Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, managing, disciplining, and terminating RSRs.
  • Oversee transportation vehicles and relations with vendors for leased vehicles and maintenance.
  • Record, track, and report data to support operations and clientele.
  • Communicate issues, concerns, and information to Superior Linen Service management regarding transportation and logistical services.
  • Compile data, verify information, and produce reports as assigned by the Director.
  • Support operations management through high-level communication between management and RSRs.
  • Investigate client issues and concerns to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Support operation functions through compilation of data for metrics and outcomes.
  • Participate and add value to committees, meetings, and activities.
  • Partner in leadership throughout the division as a strong role model.
  • Maintain a safe environment through cleanliness and orderliness, and observe RSRs for safe practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of EEO policy.
  • Demonstrate and promote Superior Linen culture, values, and management philosophy.
  • Serve as a constant resource and reminder of high-quality client and coworker interaction.
  • Encourage staff participation in additional training, education, and self-development.
  • Routinely ride along with RSRs for observation and training enhancement.
  • Provide high-level communication, keeping managers/directors informed of activities, needs, or concerns.
  • Maintain records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Maintain high-quality relationships with vendors and service providers.
