About The Position

Lifetime Assistance is seeking a Part-Time Route Service Driver to join our Vocational Services department. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to foster independence, dignity, and respect for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The position involves driving commercial vehicles to pick up and deliver materials, providing customer service, and acting as a positive role model. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-year customer service experience.
  • Clean/valid NYS Driver’s License.
  • Compliance with LAI Vehicle Operator Requirements.
  • Effective communication skills in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to define problems, collect information, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 125 lbs. and push/pull up to 250 lbs.
  • Must pass drug screening test.

Responsibilities

  • Drive larger commercial vehicles, specifically the F-650 (approx. 16 ft. box truck) and Freightliner (24–26 ft.), to customer locations using work orders and GPS navigation.
  • Pick up and deliver materials (primarily boxes and totes of paper) for shredding and document scanning, and support hand assembly when needed.
  • Call customers 15–20 minutes prior to arriving at their locations.
  • Handle PHI/HIPAA-protected materials securely.
  • Wear agency-provided uniforms.
  • Maintain compliance with NAID certification and ISO 9001:2015 standards, including vehicle records and document destruction security procedures.
  • Provide basic customer service at each stop and build strong customer relationships.
  • Interact professionally with a range of customers.
  • Represent CSS professionally and build strong customer relationships.
  • Act as a problem solver for customers and relay feedback.
  • Communicate daily with CSR or Marketing Manager regarding schedule and results.
  • Seek and contact potential customers along service routes.
  • Handle petty cash responsibly if required.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately.
  • Work overtime as needed, even on short notice.
  • Serve as a positive role model for individuals supported by the agency.
  • Promote positive behaviors and interactions with all individuals.
  • Maintain neat appearance, hygiene, and grooming.
