Under the supervision of operations leadership, the Route Sales Technician ensures that The ICEE Company is represented professionally and courteously. Customer service is a top priority, with a commitment to success for customers, partners, and peers. Daily responsibilities include delivering products, completing and rotating account inventory, processing invoices, cleaning machines, and replacing promotional materials. The Route Sales Technician also performs Service Technician duties. This role operates with minimal supervision and requires attendance at weekly meetings. Individuals in this role are provided with a vehicle, uniforms, tools, a cell phone, a tablet, and a gas card.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Real-ID Driver’s License.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs. or more on a regular basis. Occasional lifting in excess of 70 lbs. required.
  • Willing and able to drive more than 40% of the time.
  • Must have and wear steel-toed shoes.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of Technical or Vocational school, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives emergency service or supply calls from the service center, Field Manager, and/or Customer Service daily.
  • Responsible for machine movement including installations, exchanges of old or damaged machines, and pulling machines when accounts are closed (in certain locations).
  • Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots or diagnoses service problems, and makes repairs as needed.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading the company vehicle to ensure inventory for delivery is prepared for the daily route.
  • Completes inventory count at the beginning and end of shift each day.
  • Completes scheduled deliveries assigned and ensures prompt delivery of products and promotional items.
  • Discusses new products left with store personnel and informs them of new promotional items.
  • Ensures proper training of ICEE equipment is provided to store personnel unfamiliar with machine operation.
  • Cleans machines, replenishes stock of cups/lids/straws, and freshens promotional materials.
  • Documents store-provided PO # on invoices at necessary accounts.
  • Delivers product to COD (cash on demand) accounts and receives payment, obtaining a money order for the proper amount if cash payment is made, and turning it into the service center manager at the end of each day.
  • Performs weekly vehicle checks. If driving a DOT vehicle, must fill out a daily DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
  • Performs assigned general warehouse duties including cleaning, organizing, rotating product, and shipping/receiving of equipment, parts, and product.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
