This specific role is for Flowers Bakeries Sales of SoCal, LLC, seeking a high-performing Route Sales Representative (RSR) responsible for ordering, sales, and delivery of fresh baked products. The RSR must maintain a professional appearance, build strong customer relationships, and manage their delivery vehicle and associated records. The position requires flexibility for varying workdays and early morning start times, typically around 3:00 am, with days off on Wednesday and Sunday. RSRs are expected to increase sales through effective merchandising, promotion, and product rotation to maximize shelf life. They will utilize data and marketing plans to drive customer growth and satisfaction through effective communication, planning, ordering, and execution. Adaptability to customer service windows and non-traditional business hours is essential. An eagerness to learn the industry and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are key to success in this Direct Store Delivery (DSD) environment.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Have had a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.
Must have a valid state driver’s license and documented safe driving record.
Must meet Fleet Insurance Guidelines.
Must adhere to federal, state, and local rules regarding the operation of a CMV.
Must be able to push or pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

Sales experience.

High school diploma or GED.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Ordering, sales, and delivery of fresh baked products.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
Checking delivery vehicles daily, keeping accurate records, and reporting maintenance issues.
Filling out daily driver’s logs, time logs, and hours of service.
Increasing sales by expanding shelf space and creatively displaying in-store promotions and displays.
Maximizing product shelf life by properly rotating products.
Using data and marketing plans to build relationships and drive customer growth.
Working with customers to increase sales and drive customer satisfaction.
Servicing accounts during the customer’s designated service windows and working non-traditional business hours to complete deliveries.
Executing the best practices of RSR training.
