About The Position

The Route Sales Driver shall be responsible for driving a truck over various routes to deliver and sell products or render services of the dairy industry to customers' places of business. This role involves collecting money, making change, recording transactions, informing customers of new products, resolving service complaints, performing routine maintenance on the truck, keeping the truck clean, loading and unloading product, issuing sales promotion materials, placing stock on shelves, setting up merchandise displays, and collecting empty containers or rejected/unsold merchandise. The driver must work and drive in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner.

Requirements

Class A commercial driver’s license.
21 years of age.
Pass D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in completing quick mathematical processes.
Strong letter writing skills.
Ability to push/pull/drag up to 240 pounds throughout the shift.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Coachable and willing to learn.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math calculations.
Effective time management skills to achieve results through prioritizing demands.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills and effective decision-making skills.
Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills.
Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Informing regular customers of new products or services.
Listening to and resolving service complaints.
Performing routine maintenance on truck.
Keeping inside of truck clean.
Loading and unloading product.
Issuing sales promotion materials to customers.
Placing stock on shelves or racks.
Setting up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
Collecting or picking up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
Working in a safe courteous manner.
Driving in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner.
