About The Position

The Route Sales Driver shall be responsible for driving a truck over various routes to deliver and sell products or render services of the dairy industry to customers' places of business. This role involves collecting money, recording transactions, soliciting new business, preparing order forms, informing customers of new products, resolving service complaints, performing routine truck maintenance, keeping the truck clean, loading and unloading product, issuing sales promotion materials, placing stock on shelves, setting up merchandise displays, and collecting rejected or unsold merchandise. The driver must work and drive in a safe and courteous manner.

Requirements

Class A commercial driver’s license.
21 years of age.
Pass D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen.
Ability to work without direct supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in completing quick mathematical processes.
Strong letter writing skills.
Ability to push/pull/drag up to 240 pounds throughout the shift.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Coachable and willing to learn.
Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math calculations.
Effective time management skills to achieve results through prioritizing demands.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills and effective decision-making skills.
Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills.
Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Collecting money from customers, making change, and recording transactions on the customer receipt.
Recording sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.
Calling prospective customers to solicit new business.
