About The Position

The Route Relief Driver ensures timely and efficient delivery of products within the dairy industry by covering routes as needed and minimizing disruptions to operations. The driver safely transports products to designated locations, follows established routes and schedules while adapting to changes, and complies with safety regulations and company policies. The role also involves maintaining positive customer relationships, communicating with dispatch and customers, and keeping accurate delivery and vehicle records.

Requirements

• Valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy loads as required.
• Strong driving abilities and commitment to safety.
• Effective communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in route driving or delivery services.
• Familiarity with the dairy industry.
• Knowledge of local geography and road systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate delivery vehicles to transport products safely and efficiently to designated locations.
• Follow established routes and schedules while adapting to changes as needed.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to provide updates and resolve issues.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships and help meet customer needs.
