About The Position

Responsible for transporting cabinets and components, loading trailers at the factory, and unloading trailers at the jobsite. You will be home every night. This role involves inspecting vehicles for mechanical items, safety issues, and performing preventative maintenance. It also requires documenting and logging work/rest periods, miles driven, and retaining fuel/toll receipts. Compliance with truck driving rules and regulations, as well as company policies, is essential. The role includes maneuvering trucks into loading or unloading positions and reporting defects, accidents, or violations. Driving is a key component of this position.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A license.
  • Proven work experience as a truck driver.
  • Ability to drive long hours.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • No recent moving or driving violations.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.).
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to have corrected vision to 20/40.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and customers by phone or in-person.
  • Must be mentally alert and capable of remembering oral instructions and routine tasks.
  • Must be able to withstand fluctuations in temperature and environmental fluctuations.
  • Must be able to transport items through mud, sleet, and rain.
  • Good attendance and punctuality are necessary.
  • Must pass a minimum competency test.
  • Must possess excellent customer relation skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in driving manual transmission is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transport cabinet parts and raw materials from the manufacturing plants to offices and jobsites.
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items, safety issues, and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Document and log work/rest periods, miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations.
  • Stand and walk up to twelve hours per day on concrete surfaces while loading and stacking cabinets in the factory.
  • Physically carry and transport items long distances on varying terrains up to twelve hours per day at the job site.
  • Lift, carry, and transport material in accordance with the requirements listed in the matrices below, frequently and repetitively for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach grasps, twist, push, and pull items which range in accordance with the requirements listed in the matrices below.
  • Frequently climb in and out of tractor and trailer while at the job site.
  • Use bill of ladings and summaries to load and unload items.
  • Be aware of surroundings and areas in which to stage/load components in the factory and in the field.
  • Perform various other duties.
  • Communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and customers by phone or in-person.
  • Be mentally alert and capable of remembering oral instructions and routine tasks.
  • Withstand fluctuations in temperature and environmental fluctuations.
  • Transport items through mud, sleet, and rain.
  • Work the required daily and weekly work hours as determined by the schedule.
