About The Position

As a Route Driver for Darling Ingredients, you are responsible for collecting and transporting raw materials from our customers that include small family farms, larger hog confinements, locker plants, and restaurants up to large-scale slaughterhouses and food processors, bringing the raw materials back to our facility in Blue Earth, MN. The work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday designated for clean-up or other tasks. The flexible start time is 6:00 am, with work hours per day typically ranging from 10 to 11 hours. This role requires the ability to handle outside elements year-round and maintain excellent customer relations through quality, professional service.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age.
Valid Class B driver's license.
Must be registered on https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/

Nice To Haves

Class A driver's license preferred.
Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment.
Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

Responsibilities

Collects and inspects products at the time of pick up for any foreign material at the customer location.
Maintains an Electronic DOT log.
Responsible for operating the vehicle in accordance with Company, federal, state, and local regulations.
Conducts pre and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Observes company policy, procedures, and safety rules.
Maintains excellent customer relations by providing quality, professional service at all times.
Completes all company-required paperwork in accordance with company policies on a daily basis.
Attends all safety meetings and may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
